The Party

To celebrate Ainsley turning two we combined two of her favorite things - water and bubbles - and had a little party in our front yard on her actual birthday! The weather that day topped off at 104 degrees but we had the party early and our yard has a lot of shade so it wasn't too too hot. That said we did have several baby siblings keeping Bailey company inside in the air conditioning. I wish I had gotten a picture of this because it was so cute seeing them all camped out in their car seats and on play mats in our playroom.

Here was the scene - we filled plastic pools with water and bubble bath to make lots of bubbles for splashing. I might have overdone it on the bubble bath just a bit because the kids came out of the water pretty slippery and slimy, but the bubbles were great. Sorry mommies. :)

We set up a bubble machine so there were lots of bubbles filling the air at all times. And we had lots of bubble toys for the kiddos to play with and make their own bubbles.

There was Ainsley's water table with a little bubble bath to make it more interesting.

The party favor was Ainsley's personalized birthday bubble bath...

Then of course we had lots of popsicles, juice boxes, and cupcakes to help celebrate. Again, sorry mommies for the 10am sugar rush. :) But what can I say - water, bubbles, sugar, and friends makes for a really fun morning for a 2 year old!

Here is Ainsley blowing out the candles on her 2 year old cupcakes and and enjoying the icing. She never actually eats the cake - just the icing. But this year she survived the candles without getting burned so there's improvement!

Daddy with his birthday girl...

Such a fun morning and the start to such a fun day!! Thank you all for helping us celebrate! (And a special thanks to Michelle for helping us capture several of these pictures!)
