Missouri Visit

This past week I got to spend some time in Missouri with my parents and little brother, Brian. I had a great time relaxing and catching up with family. My mom and I also had fun going through old pictures, maternity clothes, and baby things. The picture above is my mom 7 months pregnant with me. Our bellies look about the same, but other than that, it is obvious that a lot has changed since the early 80s! :)
Here are some other photo highlights from my trip....

My little brother Brian, cousin Christopher, and I after a yummy and infamous Shakespeare's pizza lunch.

My sweet grandma Cary and I....

Me and my aunt Alice...

And my grandpa Graue and I...

My mom really wanted to see me once every trimester, so this was my last trip home while pregnant. Next time everyone sees us, we'll have a new little friend to introduce them to!

28 Weeks - 3rd Trimester

This past Saturday, our little girl hit the 28 week mark putting me in the 3rd trimester. Wow - has time flown! She is now a little over 2 lbs and is kicking and dancing about! I'm still feeling good... getting a little less comfortable at times, but this pregnancy has been a breeze so far, so I don't feel like I can complain.

George update - Last week George had his first full week of classes for his last quarter at Stanford. In typical overachiever fashion, he has signed up for quite a full load this quarter which will mean cutting back on tee times a bit. But he's excited about the applicability of the things he's learning and feels like this is going to be a solid quarter to end on.

Last Stop... Fort Collins & Denver, CO

Our last stop took us from sunny 80 degree days to below freezing and snowing 15 inches. Welcome to Fort Collins, CO! Actually the weather was a bit out of season for them as well but provided us a beautiful view of the city under a blanket of white.
Schools, along with almost everything else, was canceled on the day of the big snow dump and every hill held this same scene of families sledding. This hill in particular was one of the more popular ones because it was at the base of the mountain range and had both steepness and a breathtaking view.

Here I am freezing in order to capture the moment. Notice that despite my best efforts there was no way for me to button my jacket all the way down and so my belly was constantly playing peek-a-boo. One button was the best I could do at the time... not sure if I would even get that much accomplished today!

After exploring Fort Collins we headed down to Denver to stay the night before our flight back home the next day. We spoiled ourselves a bit by staying in a beautiful, historic hotel in the city called the Brown Palace. It was so lovely and made perfect by the fact that when we checked in the lobby was filled with women sharing a fancy traditional high tea. There was one family of grandmother, mother, and ~10 year old daughter that caught my eye and got me excitedly dreaming about the future!

Sadly, by this point in our trip our camera ran out of batteries so we weren't able take pictures. Instead we had a yummy dinner and saw the play 'A Prayer of Owen Meany' that the movie 'Simon Birch' is based off. It was the perfect end to a wonderful trip!
