Valentine's Day

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Ainsley and Bailey want to have
 a playdate with you!

As I have mentioned before, I have become a sucker for Valentine's day ever since I had kids.  It is just such a fun time of year to celebrate love and happiness!  This year we hosted a little playdate with the the kid's besties from school.  More than anything it was just an excuse to have some friends over but we did have some organized activities too.  Below is Cassidy, Juliana, and Ainsley wearing the valentine's necklaces they made.  These are the only girls in Ainsley's class this year and they adore each other.  I am thankful for sweet friends.

Juliana's little sister, Mia, is in Bailey's class and conveniently they are best buddies too.  This was one of Bailey's first playdates with a friend coming over just to see him and he was so excited and adorable about it.  He was quite the gentlemen and Mia and him could not have been cuter together!  They were a little young to make necklaces so they ran around outside while the big girls were stringing beads.

The other activity was decorating cookies.  The big girls got quite into it and each made two plate fulls of cookies... only eating a few each.

I didn't get a picture of Bailey and Mia making cookies because they needed a bit more hands on help.  They were happy to only make a few and surprisingly didn't want to eat any!  They just wanted to play more.

Here they are being sweet little buddies.  Bailey is showing her all the things that Caroline's princess castle does.  Seriously, it melted my heart watching them together!

It was a fun little afternoon!  I love these little love bugs!

Then just for the record books, here are pictures of the kiddos and their teachers at their school Valentine's parties.  Bailey and Mrs. Fulmer.... and then Ainsley and Mrs. Sencenbaugh.  They both love their teachers so so much and I'm so thankful for their teaching and positive influence on our kids.

January and February

Here are a bunch of the random day-to-day happenings during the first part of this year.  Below is Ainsley and the dress that she made for her Samantha out of paper during her room time one day.  It was pretty elaborately configured and taped.

Bailey has the sweetest, most handsome, genuine smile and it is so difficult to catch on camera.  I'm not sure I caught it this day but here are a few of my efforts.  Still pretty handsome and sweet if you ask me.

This particular day after seeing a commercial about these tacky hair stamps that I informed Ainsley she was not allowed to have she responded with, "Well when I am an adult I can just make my own rules and my rules are going to be to have hot stamps for my hair... and to have a pet parrot and a snake.  And Bailey, you can come visit me at my house because you will just love it there."  Well ok then!

Just wanted to capture the chaos that occurred when I left Bailey down stairs by himself for the 2 minutes it took for me to wake Caroline up from her nap.  This boy has a personal vendetta against having any pillows on the couch.  The very first thing he does when entering this room or even walking beside it, is pull each and every one off the couch and throw it on the floor.  Some days I think he might be the death of me.

This cutie pie eating a mini ice cream dove bar after crying about me and George having ones and not sharing.  Perks of being the third!

After asking Bailey three or more times to get his shoes on and then waiting the five or more minutes for him to do it himself, I hear him say, "My shoes no match!"  Arg!  Oh well.  This morning it was good enough since it was just a Saturday donut run!

George and his beautiful momma at the land when her and Harold came for a weekend in January.  Caroline spent that whole weekend throwing up so this is one of the only pictures that actually got taken.  Sorry Pam!

That same weekend at Stubb's Sunday morning gospel choir brunch... Ainsley wanted to see the band up close and the main singer asked if she wanted to sing with him.  She didn't hesitate for a second and hopped right up on stage and sang 'This Little Light of Mine.'  She did so awesome and got lots of cheers for being so brave.  Afterwards she said her heart was beating really fast.  I love this girl!

Bailey's prayer on night at dinner... "Thank you God for choo-choo trains and superman and I love you God.  Thank you for Jesus loves me this I know."  Sweetest boy!

Bad picture of me but I just love Caroline's little smirk behind her paci.

This picture was sent by Ainsley's teacher at school of the three girls in their class putting on a play.  Apparently these girls spent their free playtime one week planning a performance complete with costumes, props, dance moves, and spoken lines and then got to perform it during circle time.  Too cute!  Looks like we might have a little theater girl on our hands!  From left to right:  Cassidy, Ainsley, and Juliana.

A few messy pictures of another ice cream bar that this wee one scored.  I'm telling you, it is good to be third!

Sweet sister games one afternoon... Ainsley was pretending that Caroline was a little baby hence the toy baby bottle.

Baby in a basket... Caroline is in this phase of trying to climb in every basket, box, and bin we have around the house.  But particular basket is a perfect fit.

Donuts with Dads morning at the kid's school...

A few sleeping baby pictures because sometimes I just can't resist!

Baby girl testing boundaries...

There never was a happier baby on the morning I let her dominate the toilet paper while I got ready.

Bailey smiles in an attempt at delaying bedtime...

Our baby loving her babies... (Disclaimer - George did her hair this morning which is why it is sticking straight up!)

Just a typical 60/70 degree morning that Bailey insisted he needed his blue hat and glasses.

One beautiful morning when Bailey was sort of sick but not really and he got to play hooky at home with Caroline and I.  Little sis loved getting the extra attention!

Every kid needs to use straw glasses at least once in their life!  Thank you Papa and Yaya!
