Bailey's Flag Raising

April was a busy month for these kiddos because it was Bailey's turn to raise the flag at school in April too!  After having watched Ainsley raise the flag at least twice, Bailey was so excited for his turn.  It made him feel like such a big boy which was so fun to see.  It was also sweet to see how excited Ainsley was for him to be raising the flag.  Most of the times she is the sweetest, most supportive big sister.

His other big 'little' fan...

Bailey and his buddy Townes greeted all the other students as they arrived in the morning.  Bailey got there first that morning so he got to pick which flag he wanted first and he chose to hold the Texas flag because it has the biggest star.  Ha!

Here they are bringing the flags inside...

...and then with their wonderful teacher, Mrs Fulmer, leading the school out to the flagpole for the flag raising and morning prayer.

Here they are at the flagpole with their teacher Mrs Fulmer on the left and school's headmaster Mrs Dabbs on the right.

Here they are saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  At home Bailey was always too shy to say the pledge all by myself but if we said it with him, he would follow along.  I'm not sure he really knew the whole thing by himself but he still did great up there.

Raising the Texas flag...

His cheering section...

Mrs Fulmer praying for the day and for these boys.

Bailey and Mrs Dabbs afterwards when she gave him his goodie bag for raising the flag.

It was such a special morning for Bailey.  And I know I have said it a million times but it makes me so thankful for this sweet school!

Ainsley's Sing Song

Back in April, Ainsley's kindergarten class performed their class show during the school's monthly Sing Song.  They had an adorable 50s theme and you could tell they had a lot of fun performing!  Here is a class picture before the big show!

Ainsley's class this year only had three girls in it and I was so thankful that the three of them were such sweet, loving girls who became the best of friends.  We will miss these buddies next year... Juliana, Ainsley, and Cassidy.

And here are some of the boys who were her good buddies as well... especially sweet Jon in the glasses below.  He probably asked her to marry him 50+ times this past year.  She always politely turned him down saying that she wasn't old enough to get married yet.  Smart girl.

Ainsley and her wonderful teacher, Mrs Sencenbaugh.

For their actual performance they danced and sang to "Rock Around the Clock," "Greece Lighting" and "Locomotion."  I was taking a video during the show but George snapped these few pictures of Ainsley and her class dancing and singing.  They were so cute!!

Love this girl!  Great job Ainsley!

Ainsley's Soccer Season

This spring Ainsley played soccer.  It was early Saturday mornings and with the other two, I'll admit that sadly I never made it to a game, so it became sweet time for her and George.  They would go to her games and then usually play on a nearby playscape and then get donuts.  All these great pictures are courtesy of Uncle Ray who came to one of her games towards the end of the season.  These first several pictures are of her and the team warming up.

Then the ones below are pictures from her actual game that week.  At this age, her team splits up and plays each other which is why she is wearing a yellow jersey in these pictures.  George said that overall over the course of the season, she played pretty good, had fun and stayed focused on the game most of the time.  It was a lot of running for those girls and some mornings she would get pretty tired.  But she scored at least one goal at every game and at one game she scored four or five goals!  George said that she ended up scoring goals fairly frequently because she was faster than most of the other girls and was able to get to the ball first.  He also wanted me to note that she always kicked the ball with her left foot.  I love how intense she looks in all these pictures!

End of the game team huddle.  Ainsley said her favorite part of soccer was being a good teammate to her friends but she says that even though she had fun, she doesn't want to play again.  She says that she would rather play basketball... so we will see.
