This spring Ainsley played soccer. It was early Saturday mornings and with the other two, I'll admit that sadly I never made it to a game, so it became sweet time for her and George. They would go to her games and then usually play on a nearby playscape and then get donuts. All these great pictures are courtesy of Uncle Ray who came to one of her games towards the end of the season. These first several pictures are of her and the team warming up.
Then the ones below are pictures from her actual game that week. At this age, her team splits up and plays each other which is why she is wearing a yellow jersey in these pictures. George said that overall over the course of the season, she played pretty good, had fun and stayed focused on the game most of the time. It was a lot of running for those girls and some mornings she would get pretty tired. But she scored at least one goal at every game and at one game she scored four or five goals! George said that she ended up scoring goals fairly frequently because she was faster than most of the other girls and was able to get to the ball first. He also wanted me to note that she always kicked the ball with her left foot. I love how intense she looks in all these pictures!
End of the game team huddle. Ainsley said her favorite part of soccer was being a good teammate to her friends but she says that even though she had fun, she doesn't want to play again. She says that she would rather play basketball... so we will see.
