4th of July

With a ban on fire works this year because of the drought, we settled for our neighborhood parade to celebrate. That said, it didn't feel much like settling because we had a great time hanging out as a family and celebrating the country we love... and eating lots of parade candy for breakfast! :)

On our way to the parade... Ainsley had so much fun with the flags. "One mommy, one daddy, one baby."

Waiting for the action to start...

Watching... Notice how tightly she's clutching a fist-full of candy.

Afterward we came home and made halibut for lunch and then later went over to a neighborhood party to swim and chat. It really was such a fun day.

And just for memory-sake, here is our family picture from 4th of July last year. If someone would have told me then that on our next 4th we would be a family of four, there would have been absolutely no way that I would have believed them. But here we are... a family of four and actually surviving... most days. :)
