Easter

We had a low-key family Easter this year. Ainsley ended up having a slight fever and needing a lot of extra TLC but was able to pull it together long enough to enjoy a short Easter egg hunt in the yard. She was so cute finding all the eggs in her sweet pink dress.


Of course once she realized that the eggs opened and that some of them had candy in them, the hunt was pretty much all over. All she wanted to do was eat the jelly beans that were inside the first egg! :)


The hunt ended with Ainsley swinging with the comfort of paci and lovey... and of course her clutching her Easter basket.

And as a treat, Mom made us her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. The recipe was actually my mom's grandma's recipe. So here is Ainsley helping make her great-great-grandma's cinnamon rolls. Kinda cool... and delicious!!

Big Sister Moments

Adjusting to less mommy and daddy time has been trying, but Ainsley sure loves her baby brother.

First Week

Here are a few random shots of our handsome lil Bailey during his first week.

Going Home

We've been home for several days now, but here are our first family shots from the hospital. Ainsley was such a sweet, gentle, curious big sister when she first met Bailey. There were several times both my mom and I had to wipe away tears. She was just so sweet and had a better reaction to him than I could have ever anticipated. She asked to touch him and wanted to hug and kiss him and even "helped" the nurse check his vitals.


Then just a little over 24 hours after Bailey was born we were able to leave the hospital!! With Ainsley having been in the hospital for so long after she was born, we were eager and excited to check out as soon as Bailey got a clean bill of health. And we did. :) Praise the Lord!

George Bailey Peyton VI

We are proud to welcome George Bailey Peyton VI, "Bailey", into the world yesterday afternoon, Sunday April 17th at 3:01 pm. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long. He was a while in the making but is doing great since he decided to venture out! Mommy, Daddy, and big sister are all doing great as well. Thank you for all your love and prayers as we welcomed this little guy into the world!

Induction

On Monday I will hit the 42 week mark at which point fetal risks tend to increase so we are being induced tomorrow, Sunday April 17th. All the routine tests show that Bailey is doing great and although I'd prefer to go into labor naturally, we are eager to meet our little guy and I am excited to not be pregnant anymore. :) We thank you for all your calls, emails, and texts and would love your continued thoughts and prayers that labor would go smoothly tomorrow and that Bailey would be born healthy. And then God-willing our next post will be announcing the newest addition to our family. Lots of love!
