This past weekend was the Austin Kite festival which is a super fun event at one of our local parks where everyone gets out and flys kites. We actually have never been to the event because it attracts tons of people and want to wait until our kids are older and can enjoy all the effort... but this year we wanted to celebrate by flying kites of our own later that day. It started out great with lots of smiles, excitement, good wind, and two awesome kites - princesses for Ainsley and a blue angels plane for Bailey. George and I even brought both our camera and our video camera to capture the family magic that we were sure was about to transpire. Well, neither were needed, both kids left in tears, George and I left grumpy, and we now have one broken kite and one forever stuck in a tree. Stupid kites!
