Frozen Toys!

Again, this was an activity that we did awhile ago, but it was too fun not to post about!  I took several of Ainsley and Bailey's trinkets and toys and froze them in large containers with a little food coloring.  Then I told a fun story about how the toys got lost and crawled into the freezer by mistake and it was their job to figure out how to melt the ice and get them out!  Ainsley bought all of it and had so much fun pretending along!

We tried smashing the ice with hammers, sprinkling magic fairy dust on it (salt), and dripping magic potion on it (hot water with red and green food coloring in it).  Each of these things worked a little bit and it was fun to see them noticed what worked the best.

We ended up throwing them on the ground to crack them open, which of course made the most progress!  :)  Then we gave all the toys warm bubble baths!  I don't have pictures of all of that because it was more fun to just play along.  Still it was a really fun easy activity that is perfect for Texas weather.... even in December!!
