Just to document, Ainsley's big present for her 3rd birthday was a real big girl bike! The night before her big day we wheeled it into her room while she was sleeping and filled her floor and bed with a ton of balloons. She woke up the next morning with sweet squeals of surprise and delight! So fun! This is the first gift that she has ever requested and she loved it from the start but just hasn't spend much time actually riding it. For the first several months, the bike stayed in our house (with the plastic still on the wheels) and she would just sit on it on and off. She has trouble pushing the pedal all the way around in a circle and it wasn't until recently that she has been able to pedal all the way down our hallway. After that, the bike made the move outside and in the past few weeks Ainsley has been able to ride it all the way down the ally behind our house with a little help. Still, the plastic is still on the tires, if that gives you any indication on how much it has actually be used. :)
On the other hand, the gift that is getting the most traction still after 3 months, are these cheap little plastic princess figurines that I got at the last minute. She adores them and spends a fair amount of time playing with them everyday. Of course!
