Overall Bailey continues to be our easy-going, happy lil man who smiles and laughs easily and is so tolerant of his big sister's "gentle" love and attention. He loves to munch, chew and squeak sophie, his giraffe chew-toy, and has gotten pretty good with his hands and his ability to grab and hold onto toys... and feet. He's still working on getting those toes to his mouth though.
This month Bailey learned to roll the other way - from his back to his belly. This boy actually enjoys being on his belly. I didn't think any babies liked this - Ainsley certainly just tolerated it at best - but Bailey will roll over and play on his tummy almost any chance he gets. He seems to genuinely like being on his belly although sometimes he forgets that he knows how to roll back over on his back and gets frustrated and needs a little push in the right direction.
As I've mentioned before, Bailey is our little jumping bean. Even when he's on our lap, all he wants to do is stand up and jump, jump, jump. He can fully support his weight with his two skinny little legs and has been able to do so since at least last month sometime. His little thighs are starting to bulk up with little muscles from all his leg workouts. :)
He's started making this wet raspy, growl noise when he's excited, bored, or just waking up. He also cracks us up with the great lengths he will go to in order to see what he wants to see. He will wiggle around or dramatically crane his neck in order to watch the ceiling fan, TV, or night light. And we just can't get enough of his soft fuzz head. Hello ladies! :)
The bummer this month is that he still isn't sleeping more than a 4 hour stretch at night and is still getting up very early which makes for a very tired mommy and daddy. The ped. thinks he isn't getting enough food during the day since he is so active and his weight dropped percentage-wise this visit. So we are working on larger feedings... which is a challenge for this easily distracted little guy and his big sister, the always present yet adorable distraction.
