Happy Halloween

This year we had a fun-filled Halloween weekend with our lil flower! First, we were invited to a great Halloween party for one of Ainsley's friends from music class. Although Ainsley wasn't thrilled about getting into her costume...

...once we arrived, there were plenty of things to distract her. :) She LOVED the ball pit!!

Then we took her on her first trick-or-treating adventure with some friends. Here are the girls in their costumes... we have Claire as Dorothy, Emma as a strawberry, and Ainsley as a flower.

At the first house, everyone was a bit timid until they saw the big bowl of candy! Ainsley went "Ohhhh!!!" and then dove in with both hands!! After that she had an absolute blast and caught on to the taking-candy-from-strangers-thing pretty quickly.

Walking from house to house our big girl...

The dad's with their girls...

Close to the end of our trick-or-treating, Ainsley figured out how to take the wrapper off one of her suckers. So we figured after all that hard work, she deserved a reward. She gobbled that sucker down faster than anything I've seen! Happy Halloween lil flower!

Daddy's Birthday

On the 29th we celebrated George's 29th birthday!! George opted out of a fancy date night to look at cars (with #2 on the way, we are realizing that we need a car with a little more cargo room!) and to go shopping for some new golf clubs for an upcoming golf trip. I was kind of hoping for a fancy date night... but hey, it is his birthday.

Since the weather has been cooler lately, George has been trying to squeeze in a few extra games of golf here and there. Much to Ainsley's delight, this means that George's golf clubs tend to be left on our back porch. So for George's birthday we thought she should get her own little set of clubs!

Now in the evenings, George and her are usually outside in the backyard hitting balls together. It is pretty sweet to watch, even if Ainsley is just playing the gofer for the balls that George hits. :)

So happy birthday George!! Your girls love you!!!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, & more Pumpkins

This month we have definitely spent a lot of time celebrating pumpkins... here are some highlights.

A few weekends ago we took a family trip to Sweet Berry Farms, which is about an hour outside of Austin. It had tons of stuff for little kiddos to do, but Ainsley was a bit too young for most activities. Still, we had a good time and got some "good" pictures. The two above pictures are from our visit, as are the ones below. Ainsley goes crazy for all animals so getting to pet and feed these goats was her personal heaven. Look how serious she is about it all - so funny!

Cool old pumpkin pick-up...

Pumpkin Queen 2010 & 2009. My what a difference a year makes!

Lovin' her daddy...

Ainsley and the corn... took this one for my grandpa Graue who was a farmer.

Here is our attempt at one of those wooden cut-outs that you stick your face through... Ainsley was far more interested at seeing it for herself! :)

And after all that, Ainsley's favorite thing was the strawberry lemonade we got as we were walking back to our car. She downed it and then spent the car ride home, playing with the ice, cup, and straw. Silly girl! But I can't blame her, the lemonade was pretty yummy! Here she is with her empty cup...

Then here are a few pictures from the Tarrytown pumpkin patch by our house... both from when we went as a family and then when we went with playgroup.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere!! Got to love October!!

Social Bug

I know I've mentioned before how social and curious Ainsley can be but her outgoingness cracks me up everyday. Last week, when we were shopping for some new shoes for her there was a sales lady kneeling on the floor helping another kiddo put some shoes on. As soon as I sat Ainsley down she toddled over, squatted down and leaned in so she was eye-level with the sales lady and said "Hi!" It was so cute!

Proof

A few weeks ago we had an ultrasound of the little baby growing inside my belly and here are some of the images we got to take home. This was the first ultrasound where our baby actually looked like a baby and I had forgotten how magical and special it is to see them moving around in there. Our baby kept waving its arm up and sticking out its tongue. George and I couldn't help but be moved by how blessed we are to be able to bring another lil life into this world. It is just incredible! No gender signs yet... we should find that out right before Thanksgiving. Don't worry, we'll keep you posted. :)

Puddin' Paint

A few nights ago before bath Ainsley did a little body painting with chocolate pudding. I saw this on a friend's blog and it was messy and hilarious!! She was so funny when she realized that it was ok for her to put it on her belly and even funnier when she realized it was ok to eat it!! I love that lil girl clean or messy!!
