I've been busy with school assignments/mid-terms and visitors so this post is a week or so late... but better late than never, right? Anyway, I feel like I'm always saying this but it feels like our curious little monkey has gotten so big this past month. One big change is Ainsley can now pull herself up to standing by grabbing on to our fingers or by balancing on toys. She still needs help with her balance but you can tell that standing makes her really proud of herself. We're trying to encourage crawling but this little one loves to be on her feet and will take steps when balancing on us.

Ainsley has been chomping down on finger foods for several weeks now. She grabs puffs, peas, and pieces of carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, avocado, bananas, and whatever else we have on hand. I'm impressed with how well she eats.... although half of the time I find lots of little food bits that missed her mouth and end up in the pocket of her bib. :)
Ainsley's other sweet characteristics are that she shrieks in anticipation while playing peek-a-boo, flaps her arms when she's excited, thumps her feet over and over in her crib before falling asleep, scrunches up her face in the sun or wind, needs big hugs when she topples over and bumps her head, giggles when my hair tickles her face, sits completely motionless while I'm clipping her nails, smiles at the coffee grinder (usually I'm smiling too), gives the sweetest intentional hugs when she's in the mood, and pushes herself out of our arms when she's not.

I keep waiting for the awe of being the mother of this little girl to wear off and for it to feel completely normal, but it hasn't happened yet. Everyday I am amazed at how much I love her and feel so blessed to be her mom. She simply brightens our world.
