Choo-Choo

Bailey is obsessed with choo-choo trains and so it was on our summer bucket list to take him on this little train at a shopping center near our house.  These pictures are from earlier this summer but it was such a highlight for both Ainsley and Bailey that I thought they deserved posting.

The train itself just circled its way around part of the shopping center a few times with the conductor pointing out different "sights" along the way.  Still the journey was just enough to spark the joy and imagination of a 4- and 2-year old.  They were both all smiles and curiosity the whole way.  I love to see their delight in simple things.

At the end of the ride, the conductor gave them these train coloring sheets and for whatever reason these pieces of paper became a treasured prize.  When the kids got home they colored them and then talked about the experience for the next week.  The whole thing last about 30ish minutes and we topped it off with some dinner-spoiling ice cream and called it a night!  Bye-bye choo-choo!

That reminds me so much of Ethan! When he was a little guy he was absolutely obsessed with trains. We had tons of train books and his favorite thing to do was go down to the train tracks and watch the trains go by. Luckily -- as I'm sure you guys have noticed -- Canadian has a LOT of trains. :)
