Late fall this year Ainsley played basketball with some friends from her school. They got to pick their own name and although it was a toss up between Rainbow Unicorns and The Elsas, the Rainbow Unicorns ended up winning out. One of the the team moms got them these adorable rainbow socks to complete the look! Below is a picture of the group.
The way it works at this level is that the team has a short practice before each game on Saturday morning. I loved this because it gave Ainsley the exposure without adding a lot of extra commitments to our schedule. Below is Ainsley and Cassidy, one of her besties, warming up during one of the practices.
Ainsley had a fun season even making a few goals during some of the games. We got a real basketball hoop at home and George and her had fun practicing an playing together during the week. Ainsley really had a lot of fun playing even though she would constantly call it soccer and it gave her and George something special to do together and bond over. For the actual game this week, her team wore these black jerseys. Here she is about to play.
Her cheering section... although cute as can be, this little one made it impossible for me to get any pictures during the actual game.
