Little boy, so much depends on the playful way that you bump, the sweet way you grump,
goldfish eaten on the couch, a band-aid for an ouch,
and your big cardboard box.
Little boy, so much depends on small places to hide, afternoons playing outside,
splashing water in the bath, superman's flight path,
and your big cardboard box.
Little boy, so much depends on juice in a blue cup, things that go up, up, up,
saying 'watch me', cars that have speed,
and your big cardboard box.
Little boy, so much depends on super hero pjs, and long, long days,
making things zoom, trashing each room,
and your big cardboard box.
Little boy, so much depends on collecting big rocks, not wearing socks,
the way you don't worry, the way you won't hurry,
and your big cardboard box.
Little boy, you remind me how so much depends on days made of now.
